David & Maria bring the Sun out to play at Long Reef

So I had the fantastic opportunity to shoot David and Maria to help them get acquainted to the camera and myself before their big day. The weather decided to put on a show for us that afternoon and Long Reef is a location that should not be missed by any serious landscape photographer.

The way I like to work with couples who do express inexperience in front of the camera or show some reluctance is to start off by placing them within a scene and shoot real wide, creating an image.

As the shoot progresses I move closer and closer building their confidence slowly, complimenting them sincerely of course and showing them the results so they know what is going on.

Finally when they are at ease the images are less about what is around them and more about what's between them, or at least that's what I try and make it about... hopefully I succeeded.
